About Let Kids Play
Let Kids Play Foundation is a charity with the objective of increasing the health, enhancing the education and developing the skills of low-income and underprivileged youth by providing funds to enable them to participate in organized sporting activities.
Studies have shown that participation in sport results in clear benefits to youth, including the development of skills such as leadership, perseverance and teamwork. A recent Sport Canada survey of Canadian youth aged 12 to 21 found that their involvement in sports improved their health, helped them make friends, improved their feelings about themselves, helped them succeed at school, and helped them become more active with their family.
If you know of any families or youth who cannot afford to participate in your league, please pass on this information to them. The Let Kids Play website is online at www.letkidsplay.ca and application information is available online. A child or family can apply to have the costs of their season of sport covered by LKP, provided that they meet the requirements of the application and demonstrate financial need.
