Policies & Protocols

 

Information on coach-parent, coach-child, and parent-parent conflict resolution, lodging a complaint, Parent Handbook, communication guidelines and more will be posted on this page. Until the Handbook and flowcharts are available, please read the SCMHA Constitution and the Code of Conduct for assistance in procedures and protocols. Player movement forms are available on the Registration page (to be used for players who have moved from one minor hockey association to another).

If you would like your child to play a division level up (or down) within the SCMHA, please submit a letter to the President of the SCMHA outlining your situation and reasons for wanting your child to play up or down. Decisions will be made on a case-by-case basis with coach, parent, child and Association input after registration numbers are in.

Note:  Section 37(4) of the SCMHA Constitution states that "Meetings of the Executive Committee shall be held monthly and/or at the call of the President. Delegations and/or individuals may request an audience with the Executive Committee for the first half an hour of the meeting. Such requests must be submitted in writing and delivered to the President within twenty-four (24) hours prior to the meeting."

IMPORTANT REMINDERS:

-All coaches are required by the PCAHA to have criminal record checks (CRC's) this season (2011-2012). Get your application in now as may take several months to complete the criminal records check. The application deadline for CRC's is September 30th, 2011. The deadline for CRC's to be completed or pending is January 10th, 2012.
NOTE: There is no cost to have the criminal records check done for volunteer organizations, even with the extensive/more thorough check involving fingerprinting as long as you have a signed letter from the Association (please contact the This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
